The main difference between a Split System and a packaged system is this. Packaged systems are made up of only one unit which houses the evaporator, compressor and condenser. While the Split system is made up of two parts, the indoor unit and the outdoor unit.

Hot coils take the collected heat and release it to the outside air.

This is a pump which oves he refrigerant from the evaporator to the condenser to cool the indoor air.

The fan then blows air over the condenser and moves it to the outside air.

Located within yoru air conditioning system is a filter which traps particles from the air.

Thermostat

Thermostats regulate how much cool air needs to be distributed.
